A Farewell

June 4, 2008 – 9:46 pm

Sadly, two of our members are leaving us here in Kansas City. Lawrence Z, and Buttdart. One is moving for a great career opportunity in sunny Florida and the other is taking a nice 3 month bike trip across the country before landing in Cali.  We wish these guys the best and we will miss them dearly.

One other note, I have added a feed for Lawrence Z’s blog so we can look out for pics, etc., of his trip across the country. Good luck and stay safe!

Codemasters and F1

May 30, 2008 – 9:34 am

We should know by now that the developer of TOCA, DiRT, and GRiD have won the rights to develop the next generation of F1 games. I would have loved if Sony Liverpool studios continued to develop the series as it had a great feel. The game was set for a hardcore player from the beginning which is one reason I loved it so much. Now with the new title holders, reaching a wider, mass audience is their goal which means dumbing the game down for the new kids to play. I’ve always viewed their games as arcade racers, thus I fear the next F1 titles continuing on with their arcade heritage.

Codemasters Set to Bring Fans F1

May 11, 2008 – 5:54 pm

Developer Codemasters, have won the right to license F1. Sony was the previous holder of the F1 license but at the time of renewal they chose not to most likely due to the higher asking price which was set at 15+ million per year. This is very interesting as the developer just purchased Sega Racing Team as well.  The new F1 title is set to be released in 2009.
